Author Mary Glickman Discusses One More River

Guests joined author Mary Glickman for a special presentation on her novel One More River, this year's One Book | One Community selection.



About the Book 
— Mickey Moe Levy and Laura Ann Needleman are in love. But to prove his worth and pedigree, Mickey Moe must uncover his deceased father's past. Moving seamlessly between the 1920s and 1960s, One More River explores race, class, and Jewish life in the American South.  Download the Readers' Guide>

About the Author — Mary Glickman is a writer who has worked as a public relations professional and fundraiser 
for Jewish organizations. Born in Boston to an Irish-Polish Catholic family, Glickman felt 
an affinity toward Judaism and converted when she married. She lives in Seabrook Island, SC, with her husband, her cat, and her horse, named King 
of Harts. Her first book, Home in the Morning, has been optioned for film by Jim Kohlberg, director of The Music 
Never Stopped

One Book | One Community

In conjunction with Jewish Book Month, Spertus presents a series of activities in locations across the Chicago region, all related to a single book. This year’s selection, recommended by Spertus staff and dedicated readers, is One More River by Mary Glickman, a finalist for the Jewish Book Award in Fiction.
