COMPENSATION

This is a full time, permanent, career position. The salary range is from $26,000 to $32,000 per year based on skills and experience. The agency benefit package includes health, life, disability insurance; retirement plan; bonus program and educational reimbursement.

DESCRIPTION

The Youth Intake/Orientation Specialist is responsible for the orientation and initial assessment of at-risk, dropout and ex-offender youth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides administrative oversight and follow-up for all program applications
  • Administers assessment tests, including the TABE locator tests 
  • Provides participants with program orientation and serves as initial liaison to Mentors/Case Managers and provides administrative assistance for Objective Assessment and development of Individual Education and Employment Plans (IEEP) 
  • Assists in youth program administration and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should possess a commitment to community service, a AA or equivalent skills; 3 years of related experience, ideally working with juvenile/restorative justice; ability to work with economically and academically disadvantaged people in a multi-ethnic urban setting. Strong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
