Patron Services Manager

Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership, a multifaceted Jewish educational and cultural center located in Chicago’s South Loop, has a position open immediately for a conscientious, customer-service driven individual to be our next Patron Services Manager

This is a full-time position requiring work on some weekends and evenings. Approximately 33 hours per week.

Reports to the Director of Operations & Business Development. Compensation is hourly based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patron Services

  • Hire, train, and schedule patron services staff
  • Maintain patron services staffing schedule, and provide event staff with event information on event days
  • Staff visitor services front desk as needed, assisting with ticket sales, phone queries, information, directions, and questions

Special Events and House Management

  • Train event staff in patron services protocols, including safety policies
  • Orient, coordinate, inform, and supervise event staff on day of events
  • Coordinate with facilities and programming staffs to make sure event and productions run smoothly
  • Work evening and weekend events when required

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Provide support for building operations department
  • Manage Spertus Institute room reservation system
  • Update and maintain files, training manuals, and electronic resources
  • Create and deploy daily wayfinding and event signage
  • Update and maintain automated phone system messaging

Program-Related Responsibilities

  • Prepare drafts of Letters of Agreement for presenters, prepare and manage contracts for payment
  • Prepare and submit listing for new programs
  • Manage box office for all public programs
  • Schedule patron services staff and volunteers for all public program events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to take initiative and coordinate patron services staff effectively
  • Ability to work well with all types of people, including a range of internal constituents as well as members of the public
  • Proficiency in basic data processing software
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Courteous, punctual, and dependable
  • Familiarity with Jewish history and culture a plus
