Beyond the Counting of Years: Herman Spertus Curates
Through February 13, 2005
first floor galleries
Detail from Untitled -Franz Kline
This exhibition honored the collecting vision of one remarkable Jewish Chicagoan whose life spans over a century. Herman Spertus selected a handful of works from his personal art collection, focusing on those that have remained most meaningful to him over the course of his lifetime of 103 years. These beautiful works by renowned modern artists — including Franz Kline, Roberto Matta and Gabriella Munter — were largely unseen by the public and are sure to have stirred the imagination.
