Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies

Exploring Jewish Learning and Culture

Current Exhibition

What Does It Say to You?
Through June 27

What Does It Say to You? borrows its title from a classic museum scene in Woody Allen’s Play It Again, Sam. This exhibition was conceived to deepen the conversation between Spertus and its audiences by soliciting responses to its content.

What Does It Say to You? presents more than 60 objects from Spertus Museum’s collection along with videos of reactions by various members of our audience. Premised on the assumption that the meaning of an object is enhanced by both curatorial interpretation and the associations and knowledge viewers bring to it, the exhibition encourages visitors to share their impressions of the works on view.
