Spertus and Northwestern University Partner to Launch Certificate in Jewish Leadership

Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies and Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies are partnering to launch a new professional development program, the Certificate in Jewish Leadership. This new program combines Jewish scholarship with leading ideas from the contemporary business world to enhance the effectiveness of Jewish leaders.
Canadian Jewish Professionals to Graduate From Spertus Jewish Professional Studies Program

On Sunday, December 11, 2011, Chicago’s Spertus Institute, in partnership with the Jewish Federations of Canada — UIA, will proudly award its innovative Master of Arts in Jewish Professional Studies degree to 15 graduates of the program's first Canadian cohort.

You might say Lisa Pearl Rosenbaum has done it all. She was born and raised in New York, where she studied modern dance and choreography. She studied religion and philosophy at New York University and international relations at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and then worked at the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles before returning to school to study law.

Since he was a child, Elan Margulies always felt connected to nature and the outdoors. “I’ve always been inspired by nature,” he said. “My parents really encouraged my connection with the natural world and I pursued that into high school and college where I studied ecology and environmental sciences.”
