Gary Weinstein has spent his career working for Jewish organizations as a director, fundraiser, and educator, most recently as the Midwest Regional Director for the Birthright Israel Foundation in Chicago. Before moving to Chicago, he spent 14 years as President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, a community of 60,000 with an annual campaign of $11 million and Foundation assets of $150 million. Prior to that, he was Campaign Director for both the Metrowest, New Jersey Federation and Houston Federation, and served as Assistant East Central Regional Director for United Jewish Appeal. He started his career working with young people, as a high school teacher and then as City Director of Young Judea and Regional Director for BBYO.
In addition to his work for American Jewish organization, Mr. Weinstein has studied and worked in Israel. He spent a year at Tel Aviv University, volunteered for the IDF during the Yom Kippur War, and served as a Madrich (guide) for Young Judea.
