Spertus welcomes the Association of Jewish Studies to Chicago

Friday, December 14, 2012 - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

It was an honor to have the 44th annual Association for Jewish Studies (AJS) Conference which took  place in Chicago, December 16-18, 2012.

For attendees and guests in Chicago on Friday before the conference officially begins, Spertus Institute offered a special open house at our award-winning facility on South Michigan Avenue (approximately a mile south of the Sheridan Chicago, the conference hotel).

Guests also had a chance to view Tales, Myths, and Nightmares, a special exhibit of paintings by historian and artist Yohanan Petrovsky-Shtern, and had a chance to discuss the works with the artist in the gallery.

They were also able to see highlights from the Spertus collections of rare books, rare maps, art, and artifacts, including over 1,000 items that can be viewed in our unique visible storage.
