1932 Olympic gold medal winner Lillian Copeland
Mark your calendar for the Chicago premiere of this insightful short documentary on an often-overlooked area of Jewish history. Directed by award-winning Chicago-based filmmaker Shuli Eshel and produced by historian Linda Borish, the film profiles Jewish sportswomen from Senda Berenson, the founder of women's basketball in America in the 1880s, to Olympic gold medal skating champion Sarah Hughes.
The director and producer will be joined by author and sports historian Steven Riess for a post-film discussion.
