In her latest book, Duke University history professor Claudia Koonz challenges conventional assumptions about Hitler, finding the source of his charisma not in his summons to hate, but in his appeal to the virtue of his people. Her revelations probe the development of the rationale for genocide, adding to our understanding of the Holocaust and providing insight relevant to contemporary life.
Dr. Elliot Lefkovitz, Spertus Professor of Jewish History and Holocaust Studies, leads the discussion.
