In this four-part mini-course, visiting professor Daniel Sinclair covers areas of Jewish business law and professional ethics that are relevant to important contemporary issues. These include elements of contract law, competition law, restraint of trade, and intellectual property, as well as labor law, ethics of the marketplace, legal ethics, professional confidentiality, resource allocation, and charitable donations. The salient principles governing these issues will be outlined, and their nature and function discussed in light of case-law and teachings found in the Talmud and rabbinic literature.

Perfect for entrepreneurs, small business owners, attorneys, academics, and the general public.

Daniel Sinclair teaches Jewish Law, Comparative Bio-Medical Law and Legal Ethics at the College of Management, Rishon Lezion, Israel. He has held academic appointments at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv University, and the University of Edinburgh. Widely published, Professor Sinclair is also an ordained rabbi who has served as rabbi of the Edinburgh Hebrew Congregation and Dean of Jews' College, London.
