Judy Chicago’s groundbreaking work The Dinner Project was the first in a series of provocative multimedia installations. In 1993, she unveiled the Holocaust Project: From Darkness Into Light, created with her husband, photographer Donald Woodman. This installation, which premiered at Spertus Museum, cast the Holocaust as a reference point for exploration of the human condition.

Gail Levin presents an illustrated lecture based on her new book, Becoming Judy Chicago: A Biography of the Artist, revealing the influences behind this important work and its portrayal of the Holocaust. Research for this book was done at the Asher Library at Spertus.
