The opening reception for Spertus Museum's new exhibitions is followed by a special Chicago presentation of the acclaimed Heeb Magazine Storytelling series. Part cabaret, part literary event, this entertaining program was conceived and is produced especially for Spertus. Hosted by award-winning humorist Andy Borowitz (who regularly appears on CNN's American Morning and NPR's Weekend Edition), the program includes an original line-up of national and local performers.

Reception is free. Tickets for Heeb Storytelling are $12 | $10 for members. Tickets go on sale October 29 at 312.322.1773.

All-Chicago, All-Ages Open House

Sunday, December 2 from 10am – 6pm

Explore new opportunities for learning and adventure! "Ooh" and "ah" as Redmoon Theater kicks off new family programming (12 noon-3pm). Learn to make your own comic strips and books (10 am-2 pm). Catch the Academy Award-winning short film West Bank Story in the new Feinberg Theater (2 pm & again at 3 pm). Hear architect Mark Sexton discuss the building’s unique architecture (11 am). Watch Wolfgang Puck Executive Chef Laura Frankel prepare tasty treats and sample her delicious creations (11:30 am, 1 pm & 4 pm). Visit the Asher Library for collection tours, conservation demonstrations, and a scavenger hunt (all day). Enjoy artists' and docent talks about the Spertus Museum exhibitions (all day). Stop by the Spertus College Learning and Career fair, and much more.

Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist and author of The World is Flat, continues the new Center for Public Dialogue on Issues of the Day lecture series, with this very special appearance, made possible by Matthew & Carolyn Bucksbaum.
