Rental Policies
Individuals and organizations are eligible to rent Spertus facilities for private functions with the exception of: demonstrations and political fundraising events where funds are raised for the purpose of funding an individual candidate.
To confirm facility rental, a deposit in the amount of 25% of the rental fee and a fully signed facilities rental agreement are required. The deposit is nonrefundable. The balance of the rental fee is due six weeks prior to your event.
The rental fee generally covers us of space for four hours, general maintenance of the event space and one-half hour of set-up and tear-down time over and above the four-hour rental. The fee does not include food or beverage, service charges, tax, labor charges, use of audio visual equipment, parking, speakers, or any other miscellaneous charges incurred.
Spertus reserves the right to review all special event plans to ensure the event is compatible with the mission and purpose of the institution.
A detailed event description and timeline must be presented two weeks before the event. Final attendance estimates must be received by the Spertus Special Events office no later than 11 am two working days before the event.
Spertus reserves the right to change any exhibition or the exhibition schedule.
Deliveries to Spertus must be coordinated through the Spertus Rental Events Manager.
No food or drink is permitted in the galleries or theater. Smoking is prohibited inside the Spertus facility and within fifteen feet of the front entrance.
Nothing may be affixed to any interior or exterior surface of the facility. Spertus will not assume or accept responsibility for damage to or loss of any merchandise or articles left before, during, or following the function.
All food and beverage needs will be serviced by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Food must be served in conjunction with alcohol service. Donated food or beverage is not permitted except under rare special circumstances arranged in advance.
