We recently completed a comprehensive strategic planning process, resulting in an important plan for our future. We’ve undertaken this work as we look ahead to 2024, when Spertus Institute will reach a milestone: 100 years.
New Discoveries for Spertus Students
With Dr. Ben Outhwaite of Cambridge University, Spertus students are exploring some of the Cairo Genizah’s most remarkable texts and uncovering what they tell us about Jewish history and the cultural dynamics of medieval Cairo.
Peoplehood
Spertus Institute has added a new course to our graduate curriculum: Jewish Peoplehood, taught by Dr. Shlomi Ravid and Dr. Ezra Kopelowitz. Spertus is a pioneer in bringing this subject to Jewish professionals working in the field.

In spite of the pandemic's weighty challenges, we are fortunate to live in a time when we can deliver impactful education remotely. Since the crisis began, more than 2,500 participants have taken advantage of Spertus programs online.
