CJE SeniorLife’s Lieberman Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Skokie, IL
This donor wall is inspired by the first divinely commanded building project, the tabernacle (mishkan) in the desert. Built from donations from the people of Israel, the mishkan was a project that defined the community’s coherence. Today, institutions like the Lieberman Center play that essential role. The gold, silver, bronze, and acacia wood staffs here echo the materials of the mishkan as described in the Torah. Behind the screen of staffs, a panel of translucent cloth recalls the textile donations that were also an essential part of the original project.
