Uncover stories of Odessa’s once-thriving center of Jewish artistic and intellectual life.

Led by Dr. Inna Naroditskaya, professor of musicology and ethnomusicology at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music.

Tale of Two Violinists

In this session, discover the tales of two virtuoso violinists. One played Irish jigs, Ukrainian kazachok, and Yiddish songs in a tavern that became legendary because of him. The other founded the world's most famous violin school, a factory of violinists, who ever since have continued to win global competitions and perform in major orchestras around the world.
