Celebrate with award-winning chefs Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook, as they release their new cookbook, Israeli Soul.

This collection of recipes, stories, and gorgeous photography focuses on food served in tiny Israeli eateries, the type of life-affirming dishes passed down through families for generations.

For what will surely be a delicious discussion, Solomonov and Cook will be interviewed by local legend Ina Pinkney.

The chefs will be signing books at a reception following the presentation.

Michael Solomonov is an Israeli-born, Pittsburgh-bred chef and restaurateur. Winner of the 2017 James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef, he has been called "the Genius of Modern Jewish Cooking.” He recently appeared on the big screen in the acclaimed documentary In Search of Israeli Cuisine.

Steven Cook is Solomonov’s longtime business partner in landmark Philadelphia restaurant Zahav as well as Federal Donuts, Abe Fisher, The Rooster, and Goldie. Together, they are the authors Israeli Soul, Federal Donuts, and Zahav, which in 2016 won Best International Cookbook and James Beard Book of the Year.

Ina PinkneyIna Pinkney, Chicago’s Breakfast Queen, was for 33 years owner of beloved West Loop pioneer Ina's. She is a chef, entrepreneur, advocate, and Chicago culinary legend, now writing about dining for the Chicago Tribune.

Israeli Soul

For their first major book since the trailblazing Zahav, Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook go straight to the food of the people—the great dishes that are the soul of Israeli cuisine.

Expect this offering to
be as successful as Zahav!
