Bio

Dr. Sabine von Mering is Professor of German and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Director of the Center for German and European Studies (CGES) at Brandeis University, where she has worked since 1998.

With Monika Hübscher, she co-edited the volume Antisemitism on Social Media (Routledge, 2022). She previously co-edited Right-Wing Radicalism Today: Perspectives from Europe and the US (Routledge, 2013), and Russian-Jewish Emigration after the Cold War: Perspectives from Germany, Israel, Canada, and the United States (Brandeis, 2006). She is a climate activist and currently working on the Routledge Handbook on Grassroots Climate Activism, together with over 50 scholars from around the globe. She recently received a grant to develop a new undergraduate course on antisemitism on social media, which she will teach at Brandeis starting in Fall 2023. She is the recipient of the 2022 Volkmar and Margret Sander Prize presented by NYU Deutsches Haus.
