Dr. Sherwin was an internationally renowned Jewish theologian, ethicist, and scholar, who served on the Spertus Institute faculty for more than three decades. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago’s prestigious Committee on the History of Culture and his Rabbinical Ordination from Jewish Theological Seminary of America (JTSA) where he was a protégé of Abraham Joshua Heschel. A prodigious author, the books he wrote include Creating an Ethical Jewish Life, Jewish Ethics for the Twenty-First Century, and No Religion Is an Island: Abraham Joshua Heschel and Interreligious Dialogue.
