Bio
Dr. Sunny Yudkoff is an assistant professor in both the German, Nordic, and Slavic+ Department and the Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her first book, Tubercular Capital: Illness and the Conditions of Modern Jewish Writing, was awarded the Salo Wittmayer Baron Book Prize. She is currently at work on her second monograph, entitled Against Jewish Humor: Toward a Theory of Yiddish Joy. Her research and teaching focuses on Jewish literary production, comparative Jewish literature, Yiddish arts and texts, medical humanities, and affect theory.
