Spertus Institute announced a formal partnership with The Network for Jewish Human Service Agencies (NJHSA) and will now be considered a Strategic Supporter. NJHSA represents over 170 nonprofit Jewish service organizations in the United States, Canada, and Israel that serve over 2 million people annually.
Spertus Institute will designate scholarships for NJHSA network affiliates across Spertus’ professional development programs, including the MA and Executive MA in Jewish Professional Studies degrees, Certificate in Jewish Leadership, and Leadership Certificate in Combating Antisemitism. Spertus will also share materials and presentations with NJHSA’s The Academy for Education & Advancement, which provides professional development opportunities to NJHSA members. This partnership enhances Spertus Institute’s reach, impact, and ability to train Jewish communal professionals with its unique applied learning approach.
“It is a privilege to partner with an organization so integral in providing life-changing human services to communities throughout North America,” says Dr. Dean Bell, Spertus Institute President & CEO. “We look forward to elevating NJHSA’s impact through Spertus’ training of its professionals.”
NJHSA and Spertus Institute have collaborated on multiple events over the past year. In April 2025, Spertus’ Critical Conversations event featured NJHSA President and CEO Reuben Rotman as a panelist. A month later, Spertus faculty member Rabba Rori Picker Neiss presented the Closing Plenary speech at NJHSA’s PowerNET 2025 conference, speaking in dialogue with three Spertus Leadership Certificate in Combating Antisemitism alumni from the main stage. As part of this partnership, Spertus Institute will sponsor PowerNET 2026.
Spertus Institute is a center for Jewish learning and leadership, dedicated to teaching Jewish thought as a catalyst for action. Spertus offers graduate and certificate programs that teach students to engage with Jewish ideas in the service of personal growth, community leadership, and professional advancement.
