Join us in congratulating Dr. Keren Fraiman on her promotion to Vice President at Spertus Institute
Dear Spertus Community,
I am delighted to share with you the exciting news that my esteemed colleague and leadership partner, Dr. Keren E. Fraiman, has been named the Vice President of Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership. She retains the titles of Chief Academic Officer and Professor of Israel Studies.
Keren has been a significant force at our institution and throughout the Jewish communities. In her new role she will continue to do much of the work that she has done so well and been so recognized for as she expands her work to include developing and launching new programs related to Israel education and leadership, overseeing the growth of our programs, engaging more deeply in advancement, and enhancing operations across the Institute. Keren has been a remarkable leader these past seven years and I am excited to benefit from her hard and wonderful work in her new position.
Keren Fraiman is a most gifted educator, scholar, and leader. She is guided by deep and sophisticated thinking, combined with an inspiring work ethic and a commitment to others (students, colleagues, and family). Keren is marvelously reflective and always open to questioning, which makes her a most effective teacher and a very successful supervisor. Her ability to probe and to see bigger pictures and patterns, even as she can focus in very specific ways on particular issues allows her both to innovate and implement. Under her direction, Spertus has already improved all that it does and expanded the scope of its reach, reputation, and impact.
I am excited to lead with Keren and to see all the ways in which Spertus will grow even more under her leadership!
Please join me in congratulating Keren and wishing her much success in her new position.
Best wishes,

Dr. Dean P. Bell
President and CEO
